Information Needed Prior To Your First Lesson

Each student should show up at least 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment to warm-up and stretch properly and to be ready to go promptly when their hour officially starts!!! 

Students should try to have the following items upon their arrival for their first visit at Bull Pen Sports:

1. Batting helmet (the one they use in a game currently; with faceguard/cage preferred)
2. Batting gloves
3. Bat (the one they use in a game currently)
4. Tennis shoes preferred (cleats allowed), as the batting cages at Bull Pen Sports have Astro-turf in them, and the student will have much better balance and footing in tennis shoes.
5. A person who will be able to safely feed the balls into the pitching machine during the lesson. 

NOTE: Please do not purchase any new equipment until the first evaluation/lesson is complete!!!

After your 1st visit it may be determined that the student may need a different bat that is properly sized.

I want to help my customers save their hard-earned dollars by preventing unnecessary equipment purchases.
 
We can order most any bat for you AFTER a size and weight suggestion/discussion in conjunction with your first evaluation/lesson if you don't have the availability to purchase/order one yourself.

A limited selection of batting helmets, batting gloves and bats are available for purchase on premises, but you should bring/have your own equipment if possible, ESPECIALLY for the first evaluation/lesson.  There are used batting helmets and bats available for your temporary use on the premises (ONLY) as well.

About halfway through each one hour session, we will take a break to take a quick drink, relax, etc.  No hitter can swing continuously for one hour without tiring and having some of their mechanics break down, which could lead to a negative reinforcement of bad hitting habits and/or possible injury.

Some refrigerated refreshments (such as bottled water, Powerade, a variety of energy drinks, etc.) are available for purchase from Bull Pen Sports which can be consumed during this scheduled mid-lesson break if the student was not able to bring their own.
