Within this (5) lesson package, I discuss the BASIC mechanics/steps of hitting in detail, and make sure the student has the correct mechanics/form for both sacrifice bunting and swinging away. This is the main issue I will be emphasizing during our initial sessions.
We will work on many muscle-memory drills and exercises to improve the students’ form, swing, hand/hitting position, power, balance, concentration, head/eye location, contact point, etc. This is usually stressed heavily within the first 2-3 lessons. The quicker the student correctly learns this specific concept, the quicker the student can move on to the next level of more challenging hitting exercises, drills and theories.

I always make sure each student can sacrifice bunt after the BEGINNER lesson package as well, because it’s VERY IMPORTANT that ALL students know how to sacrifice bunt properly in Fast Pitch softball. No one knows who will be asked to bunt in a crucial situation to win a close championship game. By being prepared for the moment, there should be no doubt that you’ll be confidently ready when you are called upon by your team/coach to get the bunt down!!!
I teach 3 different types of bunting: sacrifice bunt, drag bunt (only if wanted), and a variation of power slapping that I exclusively teach called “punch” bunting (available in the
INTERMEDIATE lesson package ONLY!!!).

At the end of this lesson package, I will explain and discuss in detail the 2-strike approach hitting/theory, which is a fundamental hitting approach that improves the student’s overall on-base percentage. It has raised both my students and my Fast Pitch softball careers’ batting average up at least 50-75 points, and I personally believe it has made me (and my students who use it) a more confident hitter. I will also teach fundamental drills and exercises that will help solidify this theory/concept and the proper time to utilize it.
Note: Extra swings/work on your hitting technique (done correctly) outside of any lessons will help you become a better overall hitter at a quicker rate!!!
Simply put………..You need more CORRECT swing repetitions to make you a better hitter!!! The good hitters are taking at least 300-500 quality swings EVERYDAY!!! They are teaching their bodies to make the same through muscle-memory drills and exercises. Their swings are very efficient and powerful through increased bat speed and improved swing consistency.
